Editorial : From School Library Journal Grade 5-8 These volumes share an ambitious goal: to provide an overview of the causes, history, effects, current status of, and potential solutions to a complex human issue. Brownlie and Mason succeed fairly well, in part because they offer a limited number of supporting examples for each general point. They range worldwide to answer questions such as "Why Do Children Fight?" but concentrate on conflicts from the mid-20th century and later. War crimes, international law, and refugees are among the topics presented in two-page overviews. Books such as Paul Bennett's War (Smart Apple, 1999) and Sybella Wilkes's One Day We Had to Run! (Millbrook, 1995) concentrate on one facet of the problem such as relief efforts or refugees. Senker also ranges broadly to discuss aspects of prejudice, but often she provides so many examples in two pages that the effect is disjointed and overwhelming. Lack of definition leads to problems. For example, she includes statistics on
Hobart and Williams relied on many primary sources, including company archives and dozens of personal interviews, and the narrative flow reflects this first person information. Several words were omitted from the ebook, enough to lose some of the meaning. The Workbook, even though some students might be insecure about being spotted at a local coffeehouse with its title, is pretty thorough. Ultimately this book provides an overview on topics such as Types of Wars, Rules of War, and the Impact of War. Just as the title of this book, it IS the ESSENTIAL toolbox for young engineers.. There are 26 stories all dealing with various forms of love set within the science fiction and fantasy genres. It is a perfect supplement for those taking General Chemistry 1 and 2, or the combined General Chemistry for science majors.. Very obviously he had great relationships with his family members and mentors and coaches who helped him, but he deserves so much credit personally for choosing to embrace the
