This is the essential how-to manual for anyone interested in baseball research. How to Do Baseball Research updates and greatly expands The Baseball Research Handbook, published by the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) in 1987. A group of talented SABR members provide information and advice in a variety of areas, including how to use libraries and archives, find illustrations, and prepare manuscripts for publication. Particularly noteworthy is the new information on using the computer for baseball research and statistical analysis. Contributions from SABR committee chairs and longtime SABR researchers add valuable specifics to the fundamental advice in the ten chapters.

Editorial : "Whether you're a hard-care member of the Society for American Baseball Research or just an enthusiast of an arcane slice of diamond minutiae, this is a valuable handbook for any form of baseball scholarship."—USA Today Baseball Weekly

Let's face it, they're not that helpful anyway. It was amusing the first time, but it just becomes ludicrous how often she thinks of characters and symbols sexually, instead of for what they are or other possible interpretations, and sees gender as a black-and-white issue, and has to bring it up for every series, regardless of its demographics. I have read all (28 or so) Gor books, but instead of comparing them to each other, I will limit my comments to the new Gor reader. If you have a question, chances are Snider anticipates and addresses it.

When she introduces the concept of "strategic partnering" between in-house lawyers and outside counsel, Snider pro-vides a step-by-step analysis that will go a long way toward soothing doubters. In the 1960's, I saw Leo McKern's superb portrayal of Thomas Cromwell as a Machiavellian political thug in the Oscar-winning A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, in the last few years, Hilary Mantel made him the hero of her Man Booker prize-winning fiction.
