"The Main Enemy" reads almost like an espionage novel, full of drama and high-stakes scenes. Also, things are not always as black and white as "creature A is more powerful than creature B or vice versa".

Overall, I liked how this book gave a good idea of the capabilities of some of fascinating creatures that live or have lived on this world. It makes you think and gives you a devil's advocate type of look at most arguments. The book is enlivened by her personal accounts of interviews with Cioran and research trips back to her homeland. You can basically read all of this on Medium or his newsletter, where it's actually formatted better for reading and there's pictures or whatever that go along with the text, but I suppose if you're like a die-hard fan (no Boutros) or really want to support Byron you could buy this.
