Editorial : About the Author Growing up surrounded by the beauty of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, Bradford P Ward spent much of his childhood years exploring the beach, the back bay and the sea oat covered dunes where he could let his imagination run wild. His appreciation of the natural world developed on these Florida shores. And when he wasn't on the beach, he was at his desk, the dining room table or on the porch; cartooning and/or writing his many story books. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Zoology and a teaching certification, Mr. Ward began a 36 year teaching career; the perfect way to pass on his love of science to future generations. As a high school teacher in Tampa, he taught honors biology and honors Anatomy and Physiology, coached softball and swimming and earned his National Board Certification. His passion for writing, from the age of five, stayed with him and using his knowledge of zoology, and entomology in particular, he conjured up the insect

With a lively and incredible cast of pests, including the scheming Silverfish, the bashful Stinkbug, the brilliant Book Louse, and Scarab the Dung, just to name a few, this creative adventure is full of humor, intrigue, and genuine scientific insight into the behavior of insects as told through a fictional tale. The reader is not only thoroughly entertained by the interaction and antics of the “bug-fellows”, but will come away with a whole new way of seeing the world of insects and imagining how our six-legged Arthropods might really think. The Pilgrimage of Pests is th

They're just as interesting, if not more, than the new mutants. But he's written a thorough, heartfelt history of a legendary radio station, and I thank him for the depth and breadth of research he clearly put into this labor of love. My only reservation with giving this 5 stars is that the fallacies are listed in alphabetical order. If the set-up sounds similar to that of Avengers: The Initiative, that is because this is essentially the same tale, only stripped of the New Warriors back story and set in a politically saner Marvel Universe. All of Collins' books are interesting, hard to put down, and written with a passion for understanding the mechani
